Silahkan is a playful, poetic solo for 6-year-olds and upwards, that transports the audience into a world of metamorphoses. Set against a constantly changing backdrop, where ordinary items are transformed into extraordinary objects, Silahkan – which means “please” in Balinese – traces the trajectory of a delicate figure inspired by an Asian goddess. Her free-flowing, emotion-filled dance evokes an inner journey imbued with dreams and desires. The vibrant, colourful fabrics are handled with grace, adding to the visual magic of the work, which combines lightness with depth.
